HCHS 96 Reunion

After weeks of preparation, the day finally arrived. We chose December 22 /23, 2007 as the big day cos we we're sure everybody will be home already for the holidays. Ana and I made sure that we can make it on the day so we sailed the night of 21st carrying heavy baggage of pasalubongs, Christmas gifts including the heavy commemorative mugs that I personally printed to be given to everyone who will be on that day.

The 11 am assembly time became 1pm. No one was there at the resort except me, Bobby, Luchitta with husband and kid ...until Ana showed up, then Lewellyn and Lerma Eve and Rose Michelle's battalion errr..family :) ... and we became 12 in the late afternoon. Thankfully, Yasmin and her Australian husband stayed in the same resort and that made the day brighter. Everybody was starstruck by her or shall we say gold-struck by the way she looks now, mesmerized by the heavy gold jewelry worn all-at-the-same-time like an Indian princess. As the most fortunate of all, she became the Germana Mayor of the event, well at least for the softdrinks, wine, rum, ice cream and chips . And take note, Mark Medellin's lechon never arrived but at least he made sure it will become a Lechon Kawali!

The day turned into night and we became almost 20. Thank God we reached 2 digits! Surprisingly, Felex showed up despite the calls days and hours earlier that he can't make it because of work. Well, he is always good in dramatic entrance.

Never-ending stories of what we used to be and the present, cheering both married without children and married with lots of children and of course picking those who are still single and available like me made the little group loud and Ana finally having a boyfriend for the first time was the best news of all. Food and drinks started pouring and thanks to Auntie Belen, Vanessa's mother, for preparing them. Then everybody became tipsy, took a dip at one of our private village's pools which really looked inviting at night but questionable in morning, played funny games, reliving then-high-school-sweethearts and goofing around like high school students again. And!- imagine the boys swimming in their white briefs... how would they look like above water???!! hahaha. We all slept at 4:30am when the church bells started to ring for the Christmas dawn mass and some have left.

We still had a blast though we're just few. It's sad to know that not everyone that we expected to be there were there. We have invited everyone but it's always a fact that not everyone will go for different reasons. Well, family and work maybe valid reasons but it sad to know that some chose not to go because they feel shy - reasons that they only can tell.
