The Card that Counts
Ana, a close friend since childhood texted me Happy Birthday this morning. Told her it's too early, I am still 27 and I still have 2 days left and still want to enjoy it. Like me, she also felt the same way when she turned 28 last March and even cried on the thought that she was turning 28 but still have not even experienced having a boyfriend since birth. I don't know if it's right to feel this way, but turning 28 can indeed be very frightening if you're still single and NOT DATING. Is it because you are just 2 years shy for the next age range? 30-39 and (again) SINGLE AND NOT DATING???
The 3 Single-and-not-dating ladies decided to go out and have a chat over a sumptous meal, one is Mymy, another close friend since childhood, a young and beautiful doctor who falls in the category single-and-not-dating too. She wasn't able to make it to though. The beautiful doctor decided to sleep her dysmenorrhea away.
For 2 hours, the two "deprived" (hahaha, I like that word) ladies complained about being single and not dating at this age over a big bowl of sinigang na bangus, sizzling chicken (in lieu of the crispy pata that made the waitress gulped when we ordered), loads of rice, halo-halo and 6 refills of bottomless iced tea each at Max's Restaurant in Ayala. As we walk to leave the mall, I decided to give my credit card some love and attention for a Memo top and a new Revlon lipstick despite all the efforts not to ever use it again.
Credit card love for my birthday in lieu of birthday cards... what a lovely way to spend the day! Just forget about the bills :)
